About
I have a BA/BS in Media Studies & Sociology, and earned my MS in Applied Social Research from CUNY Hunter College. My graduate work primarily focused on Qualitative and Quantitative methodology and analysis in the areas of Public Health, Disability Studies, Medical Sociology, Critical Media Studies and Social Movements. I encourage you to take a peak at my papers as examples of how my acquired research skills have been applied to both micro and macro sociological phenomenas.
I am deeply interested in investigating our intimate relationship with technology. I enjoy writing about ways in which technology and the corporeal body (re)shape each other on various levels.Think cyborg meets social justice activist. I am currently researching media tech-centered resistance movements aimed at demedicalizing and reshaping the dominant representations and meanings of "disability" and "fatness".
Visual Sociology tickles my fancy. I welcome you explore the sites below for examples of my visual narratives. Enjoy!
